Blackcreek Gun Club
We are a family-owned outdoor shooting range in Mechanicsville, VA.
Our founder, Kay C. Young, opened the first range for personal use in 1966. Today, the property hosts six ranges. Four of these are open to the general public and two are reserved for training and other special events.
For many years, Kay operated Young's Gun Shop, a full-service gun shop offering sales, repairs, and custom gun building. It was during this time that he created the additional ranges that we have today.
We are conveniently located near the intersection of I-295 and I-64 not far from the Richmond International Airport. Five minutes off the Cold Harbor exit of I-295, we are convenient for both the Richmond and Hampton Roads areas.
Membership Requirements
- You must be an NRA member, as we are an NRA affiliated range.
- You must attend a safety briefing with a Black Creek Gun Club employee.
2024 Membership Application

All prospective members must bring the following items to the office:
- Completed Membership Application
- Driver's License or other government-issued ID
- Membership fees - must be paid by cash, check, or credit card*.
- $325 for full membership
- $75 for family member residing in your household
- NRA Membership Number
If you have a Concealed Carry Permit, please bring that as well.
If bringing any article regulated by BATFE, bring the appropriate paperwork each time you visit the range.
Eye and hearing protection are required.
If your bank does not honor your check, you will be charged a return check fee equal to whatever Blackcreek is charged, and you will be required to pay cash for all future transactions.
Our credit card processing company charges 3% for each charge. This will be automatically added to each transaction by the card processing company.
